Brothers of the Department of Tennessee in this issue of our Department Newsletter you will find the registration form for the upcoming annual encampment. This year it will be held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on March 4th from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, Central Standard Time. The host this year is The Army of the Tennessee Camp #64 with our special guest being the Senior Vice Commander of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Brother Mark Day. We will have a great deal of work to complete including a decision being made in regard to any name change for our department, determining what type of commitment, if any, we want to make in the matter of hosting a National Encampment and selecting officers for the forthcoming year. Also note that meals will be on your own but I have been assured that there are numerous restaurants in the vicinity.
Over the last two years I have had the honor to serve you as Department Commander and to see our hard work be rewarded with numerous recognitions at the National Encampments. I feel we are in a strong position to move forward with renewed energy by whoever you select as your new Department Commander. I have made many new friends and had the opportunity to work with some of the most outstanding people in our organization. Let’s keep up the good work
