Brother Downs:
Sorry for the delay in sending this, but I wanted to officially thank the Department of Tennessee for hosting the 77th Central Region Association Conference in Nashville earlier this month. Also, I realize that you personally took on the “lions share” in organizing the event and I wanted to thank you individually for your time and effort. As we discussed previously, Nashville served as an ideal location given the Civil War history associated with the area. Also, the meeting facility at Fort Negley was probably the best meeting facility we’ve had in all the years I have been attending this conference. I don’t like “blowing my own horn”, but based on the feedback from a number of the attendees, the combined program pulled together by myself and Brother McReynolds, along with the Franklin preservation overview provided by Brother Gant, proved to be ideal for the occasion. I know you also mentioned interest on behalf of the Department of Tennessee in hosting a National Encampment in Nashville (or some other location in Tennessee). I would definitely be supportive of such an endeavor. Anyway, thanks again, and I look forward to seeing you and the Brothers from the Department of Tennessee in the near future.
In Fraternity, Charity & Loyalty,
Don Palmer
PCinC….and Past Central Region Commander.
