Final Report Concerning the October, 2017 meeting
of the Central Regions Association of the Allied Orders

The Central Regions Association of the Allied Orders held their annual meeting on September 30th and October 1st, 2016 in the Franklin and Nashville, Tennessee metro area. The Department of Tennessee, S.U.V.C.W was the hosting Department with their current commander, Michael Downs, in charge of planning and organizing the event. In brief, the host hotel was in Franklin where registration and a dinner get together was held on Friday evening. Saturday morning Brother Sam Gant P.D.C., of the Fort Donelson Camp, presented the history of the preservation of the Franklin Battlefield and then led a driving tour that he had developed of the historic site. The afternoon session was held in Nashville at the site of Fort Negley, a fort built by the Union forces for protection of the city. There Central Regions Association Commander Don Palmer led a business meeting and the election of new officers with the final presentations made by Brother David McReynolds, C.C., from the award winning William McTeer Camp #39, and Past National Commander Don Palmer. Their topics reviewed the development of successful camps and the retention of new and current members. That evening another dinner, which included a great deal of fellowship, was held at the Franklin Cracker Barrel. The new Central Regions Commander for 2016 – 2017 will be Past National Commander of the S.U.V.C.W. Brother Ken Freshly. Finally it was announced that the 2017 C.R.A. meeting would be held in Cleveland, Ohio.
